Join Kodiak College professor Cindy Trussell to learn the chemical process behind the batik fabric dyeing method by designing and creating your own one-of-a-kind piece of fabric.

Batik is a method of putting patterns on fabric using wax relief and dye. When you make your batik, you'll paint hot wax areas of the cloth to make a design before the cloth is dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original color. This process of waxing and dyeing can be repeated to create more elaborate designs.

All materials are supplied including cotton fabric. Choose a 22" x 22" bandanna or 18" x 22" fat quarter.
